Tomorrowland Teaser Trailer
I’m not going to lie to you guys, for the longest
time I thought that Disney’s Tomorrowland
was going to be animated. Imagine my surprise when I figured out that it was
live-action and would be starring some of my favourite actors.
Although the film is not scheduled to be released
until May next year, the first teaser trailer for Tomorrowland has been released and it definitely lives up to the
idea of a ‘teaser’. We are barely given any information at all, but for now
let’s breakdown what we do know.
In the two minute trailer we are introduced to
Casey, played by Britt Robertson, a teen bursting with scientific curiosity who
may not be the most model citizen, and Frank, played by George Clooney, a
former boy-genius inventor. The trailer doesn’t really give us any in-depth
ideas about either character, though it’s a pretty fair assumption that Casey
may have some trouble with authority seeing as in the trailer she is picking up
her belongings from the police station.
Right at the tail end of the trailer we are given
the briefest glance at Tomorrowland and it is unclear how the pin transports
Casey there or if it is even a real place, but rather more like a mind palace.
The synopsis released by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures states:
“Bound by a
shared destiny, a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity
and a former boy-genius inventor jaded by disillusionment embark on a
danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in
time and space that exists in their collective memory as Tomorrowland.”
In addition to Robertson and Clooney, the rest of
the stellar cast is rounded out by Hugh Laurie, Raffey Cassidy, Thomas
Robinson, Kathryn Hahn, Tim McGraw, Keegan-Michael Key and Judy Greer. With
such big names attached the film I have pretty high hopes that it’s going to be
amazing. I am especially excited to see Britt Robertson tackle the role of
Casey since her stand-out role as Angie McAllister on CBS’s Under the Dome.
