Lucy Hale Road Between Track by Track
It's been just under two weeks since Lucy Hale's debut album was released, and I don't know about you but I just cannot stop listening to it!! The country album features 11 songs, plus an extra 5 songs on the deluxe edition. The Target edition of Road Between includes an extra 3 songs, with the Walmart edition including 1 extra. That makes for 19 incredible songs all up. I'm going to be breaking down the album track by track right here.
1. You Sound Good to Me
The album opens with it's single which was released on January 7 this year. It's a great opener for the album with it's catchy tune and fun lyrics. Great for a road trip playlist with your friends.
2. From the Backseat
Probably one of the sweeter songs on the album, From the Backseat has some great lyrics with Lucy delivering great vocals. One of the more M rated lines on the album is in this song and I have to say it's one of my favourites.
3. Nervous Girls
A beautiful ballad with a powerful message. For this song Lucy strips back and sings with her heart on her sleeve, telling everyone that we all go through times in our lives where things just don't go our way, and that we aren't alone.
4. Red Dress (Duet with Joe Nichols)
This song could possibly be my favourite on the album. It's got a great country beat and both Lucy and Joe give great vocals. The lyrics are simple and very easy to remember. Just a great song all round.
5. Goodbye Gone
One of the albums promotional singles, and possibly the most country sounding song on the album, Goodbye Gone is a fun song with catchy lyrics all about going out and having fun after a break-up. Perfect song for getting over an ex.
6. Kiss Me
This song is one of those songs which probably should be a ballad but isn't. The song is all about a boy and a girl who after their break up keep running into each other until it gets the point where they are both just like we can keep up this silly game or we can just get back together. It's got a great beat and some seriously catchy lyrics. You'll be singing this one forever.
7. Road Between
The album's title track is a ballad that shows off Lucy's incredible vocals. Lucy herself loves the song since according to her, it's exactly where she's at in life right now.
8. Lie a Little Better
Something we all knew was coming... a song about a PLL co-star! What we didn't anticipate was a song about Lucy having a crush on a PLL co-star, and them catching on to her. Just the title of the song itself is great. Add that to the lyrics and that upbeat tempo and Lucy's got herself a great second single!!
9. That's What I Call Crazy
A fairly simple song in terms of lyrics and tempo, but one that will having you singing at the top of your lungs no matter what time of day.
10. Love Tonight
Personally, this is one of my favourite songs and I don't really have any idea why. The song has quite a simple tempo and really simple lyrics, but something about it just makes it catchy.
11. Just Another Song
If you didn't purchase any of the deluxe editions then this would be the last song you got on the album. A powerful ballad which showcases Lucy's vocals. A perfect end to a perfect album.
Of course if you purchased any of the deluxe editions that wouldn't be the end, and you would have another eight songs to listen to.
12. My Little Black Wedding Dress
13. Feels Like Home
14. Loved
15. Kiss Me (Live Acoustic)
16. Road Between (Live Acoustic)
17. Runaway Circus
18. Those 3 Words
19. Come On
So come on, I want to know. What was your favourite song on the album and why? Which song will be stuck in your head for the rest of the day? Keep an eye out later on tonight or early tomorrow for my recap of the Game of Thrones finale.
Stay random!
~ Jenna
