Game of Thrones 4x10 Recap

Major WTF moments happened in the season four finale of Game of Thrones titled 'The Children'. Right here I'm going to break down what happened with some of the main characters during the epic 66 minute episode. Before we go any further though I just want to warn everyone that this blog will contain spoilers for the finale, so if you haven't seen it don't read this!!

SPOILERS AHEAD!!

Jon, Stannis, Davos and Melisandre
So we open the episode with Jon Snow confronting Mance Rayder about the attack on Castle Black. Before Jon can do anything about it, Stannis and his army attacks the wildlings. Back at Castle Black the Nights Watch burn their dead and Melisandre gives Jon a very long and intense stare. Jon also gives Ygritte a very nice send off beyond the wall which had us all in tears.

Bran, Jojen, Meera and Hodor
Finally Bran has made it to the weirwood tree where he met the three-eyed raven. The Children of the Forest were also introduced in this episode and I for one am very excited to see how Bran's storyline is going to play out in season five. The skeleton fight scene was pretty cool though I'm sad to see Jojen go. He was a great character but I suppose he served his purpose in getting Bran to the three-eyed raven and the show already has such a large cast that they probably didn't need Jojen around any longer.

Daenerys
Dany's story doesn't appear to be moving forward at any rapid pace. One major moment for Dany was when she was had to chain up two of her dragons after Drogon (the large black dragon) killed a little girl. After all she has gone through to free the slaves, she now has to chain up her own dragons which I think would have a really big impact on her. That and the dragons may start to resent her after she's locked them up. I suppose we'll have to see what will happen with her and dragons in the next season.

Cersei and Jaime
Twincest is back on!! Yep that's right, Cersei and Jaime once again had sex only this time they don't care if anyone sees them. In an attempt to stop Tywin from marrying her off to Loras Tyrell, Cersei tells her father all about her relationship with her brother, something that her father didn't truly believe. Now that everything is out in the open it'll be interesting to see what happens in Kings Landing next season.

Arya, Brienne and the Hound
Brienne vs. the Hound could have been one of the coolest fight sequences of the season, bar the fight between Oberyn and the Mountain. The scene where Brienne and Arya are bonding over being tomboys was really sweet. And Arya showed her true colours when she wouldn't kill the Hound. Now Arya is on her way to Braavos after flashing the coin given to her in the season two finale. I'm keen to see what Arya does in Braavos, but I reckon she's going to be a pretty fierce character.

Tyrion, Schae and Tywin
Possibly the biggest OMG moment of the episode occurs when Tyrion escapes from the dungeon and goes after his father... only to find Schae in Tywin's bed!! Tyrion strangles Schae before confronting his father on the privy. After a short conversation, Tyrion shoots his father with a crossbow and escapes with Varys on a ship heading east. One of the cutest scenes in the episode though was the scene between Jamie and Tyrion in the tunnels under the red keep. The love those brothers have for each other is just adorable!!!

So that was definitely an explosive 66 minutes and it has set up a lot of cool storylines for season five. I can't wait to see what the showrunners are planning on doing with the show!! Leave a comment below and let me know what your favourite scene of the episode was and who you are most excited about seeing next season.

Stay random!
