The Fosters 2x04 Recap

So the fourth episode of The Fosters season two is titled ‘Say Something’ and it is full of twists and turns. This show just keeps getting better and better and every time I think I have it figured out it throws another curve ball my way. Before we talk about this latest episode, let’s talk about what we know so far.

Brandon is still playing keyboard, but instead of classical he’s playing in a band run by sexy lead singer Lou. At a party held by the Foster kids while Moms were out of town Brandon and Lou sang “Outlaws”, the song Brandon wrote for Callie. Callie and Brandon are finally acting like brother and sister, and Callie still hasn't told Jude about her half-sister Sophia. Emma and Jesus have broken up and Jesus slept with Hayley, once of the dancers on the team with Mariana. Connor is no longer allowed to hang out with Jude since his Dad thinks Jude is gay and it looks like Mike may have killed Ana!

SPOILERS AHEAD!!

So let’s talk about the biggest event in the episode. Callie finally comes face to face with her birth father and her half-sister Sophia, played by the gorgeous Bailee Madison. Bailee did a terrific job playing Sophia and can I just say again it is uncanny how much those girls look alike! After talking for awhile it is fairly obvious there is a large difference in maturity between the two girls. Despite this they have plans to go horseback riding in the near future. And although Robert Quinn has said he will sign the papers that will allows Callie to get adopted, he would also like to set up a college fund for Callie. Perhaps we will continue to see him and Sophia even after Callie has been adopted? One can only hope.

Lena let’s slip the gender of the baby... and it’s a girl! In other good news concerning the baby, Timothy has finally signed the donor contract making it completely anonymous. He will no longer have access to the child, but is that what Stef wants? After talking with Robert Quinn it appears she is more open to the idea of Timothy having a presence in the child’s life. We’ll have to wait and see to find out what Lena thinks. Oh and Lena didn’t get the principal job at Anchor Beach. I guess you can’t have it all.

Jesus appears to have completely moved on from Emma... straight on to Hayley! Though the two begin a relationship, Hayley makes it clear that she doesn’t want anyone to know. And to make things even more complicated, while Jesus and Hayley are making out upstairs Emma arrives. Could she want Jesus back?

Another good thing came out of Callie’s meeting with Sophia. She finally worked up the courage to tell Wyatt that she loves him. Can you say awwwwww? But something bad has come out of it too. Jude is no longer talking. Could this thing be affecting him more than he is letting on? I’m going to take a wild guess here and say yes, but I suppose only time will tell.

What did you think of the latest episode from The Fosters? Are you happy that the baby is a girl? And what do you think is going on with Jude. Let me know in the comments below!

Stay random!
