Blended Review
Not
too long ago I desperately wanted to go out on a Saturday night. All my friends
were busy but my sister was keen. So what do you do with an underage sister on
a Saturday night? You go to a movie! Thus, my sister and I were laughing our
heads off in the cinema watching Blended.
Blended is a romantic comedy starring Adam Sandler and Drew
Barrymore with an ensemble cast of Bella Thorne, Emma Fuhrmann, Terry Crews,
Joel McHale, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Kevin Nealon and Shaquille O’Neal. The
premise of the film saw two families’s travelling to Africa together, despite
an awkward blind date between Mom and Dad.
Normally
I hate romantic comedies, but this one I thoroughly enjoyed. The jokes were
funny, the acting was good and the scenery was incredible. Blended marks Sandler and Barrymore’s third collaboration; and it
was easy to tell why the two of them continue to make such great films. They have
great chemistry together as well as with the entire cast. It made for a very
believable film.
The
scenery in the film was magnificent. South Africa is beautiful and it was easy
to see why the writers chose to make the family moon in Africa... it gave the
director something amazing to work with. Having been to Africa myself I can say
that some of the activities the characters did would not happen if you actually
visited the country, however it did make for an interesting film.
If
you are looking for a film to watch with your sister when you have nothing
better to do on a Saturday night then Blended
is the film for you, with just the right blend of comedy and seriousness.
Stay
random!
