Sam & Cat Cancelled

Bad news for all us 'Sam & Cat' fans. The hit Nickelodeon show starring Jennette McCurdy and Ariana Grande has been cancelled after only one season. The cancellation doesn't come as much of a surprise after the show was placed on "permanent hiatus" in April, following behind-the-scenes drama which saw the show only produce 36 episodes out of its 40 episode order.

"Nickelodeon will not be producing more episodes of Sam & Cat," the network told Deadline in a statement. "We are very proud of the show and its very talented cast and we wish them all the best". The final episode of the show titled '#GettinWiggy' is set to air July 17.

The show has been heading down the road to cancellation for quite some time after a major controversy concerning star Jennette. Naked photos of her were leaked online and rumours that Jennette and Ariana don't get along anymore have been getting stronger. There were also rumours circling about Ariana making more money on the show than Jennette did, though Ariana quickly dismissed those rumours as being "completely ridiculous."

The drama going on behind-the-scenes of the show has ultimately led to its cancellation. I for one am very disappointed as this was one of my favourite shows and I'm upset to see it go. Still, I wish Jennette and Ariana all the best in their future careers.

What do you guys think about the ending of Sam & Cat? Are you upset to see it go? Why do you think it got cancelled? Let me know in the comments below!

Stay random!
~ Jenna
