Pretty Little Liars 5x05 100th Episode Recap

What we know so far: Alison has returned to Rosewood but it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. Mona has created an army of losers to try and drive Ali out of Rosewood for good. The liars are beginning to doubt Ali since she will not stop lying, spinning a story about being kidnapped for the past two years. Mrs. D was found buried in Spencer’s backyard and Mrs. Hastings seems to believe that her husband was responsible. Aria is obsessing over Shana’s death and Ezra is attempting to help her through it.

Warning: This blog post will contain spoilers for the 100th episode of Pretty Little Liars.

A’s back bitches!

That’s right! If you are anything like me then you would have been glued to your seat during the unforgettable 100th episode of PLL titled “Miss Me x 100”. So much happened in the intense 45 minutes that I’m having trouble getting my head around it all! I’ve broken down some of the biggest OMG moments in the episode below. Read on and tell me what you think!

SPOILERS AHEAD!!

First up, Jenna is back and she has a nasty agenda. While upset over the death of Shana, she’s not letting it get in the way of working with Mona to try and drive Alison out of Rosewood. And perhaps even more shockingly, Sydney is working with them! I was really starting to like Sydney too. Anyone else think she looks a bit like Anne Hathaway? Also, when the three of them were meeting at the park, a fourth car with an unknown number of occupants drives up. Who else are they working with?

Ali’s back at Rosewood High and not everyone is happy about it. Obviously Mona and her army of losers aren’t thrilled with the idea, but neither are the liars! Alison is trying to make amends with those she wronged in the past - including Paige! - but most of them don’t appear interested. Mona managed to lure Alison to a church where the two proceeded to exchange fiery words and even a slap or two. Mona of course caught the whole thing on video and the next day everyone had seen it. The liars are furious since Alison is once again lying to them. Why can’t you just trust the girls Ali? Whhhhyyyy?

Now I don’t know about you, but after the last few episodes I’m not convinced Veronica is emotionally stable anymore. In fact it was revealed in this episode that she’s leaving her husband and is taking Spencer with her. One of the reasons? Peter and Melissa lied about their whereabouts the night Jessica was killed. These two are looking guiltier by the second.

Caleb’s back! But don’t expect any Haleb action anytime soon as he doesn’t want to get in the way of Hannah and Travis. I don’t know what I want. Both couples are just so adorable! Caleb also brings us next to no closer about Ravenswood. Apparently he simply hasn’t seen Miranda since the Ravenswood finale. Shame really. I really enjoyed the spin-off and wanted to see where it was going.

Did things just get hot in here? This episode we had a fairly steamy sex scene with everyone’s favourite couple. That’s right guys, Ezria is back on! And that wasn’t the only couple to get together in this episode. Emily and Alison shared a couple of kisses when they really should have been sleeping. Add to that Alison’s confession that Emily was “the hardest one to leave” and that the kisses they shared before Ali’s disappearance were not fake, it looks like Emison is here to stay.

One of the biggest reveals of the night came in the form of Bethany Young, aka the Jane Doe who was buried in Alison’s grave. Five seasons in and we finally know the identity of the girl who died! Wooo!! Question is... who is she? All we know so far is that she was a patient at Radley who was believed to have run away from the hospital on the night Ali was “allegedly kidnapped”. That’s right. “Allegedly”. The police are beginning to poke holes in Ali’s kidnapping story. This can only go downhill for the liars from here.

An explosive episode deserves some sort of memorable ending right? Well in this case there was an actual explosion. Toby and Jenna’s house blows up in the final few minutes of the episode, causing Toby to run towards the house in fear that someone was inside. And just as the girl’s thought they were finally safe... five cell phones began to ring.

A. Is. Back. And it’s fairly obvious that he/she means business. And did anyone else see the Black Widow costume in A’s new apartment? I’ll admit I missed it watching the first time round. If you did too then I recommend going back and watching it again. It’s fairly obvious once you’re looking for it.

So what did you think? Did this episode live up to your expectations for the 100th episode? It definitely did mine. Let me know in the comments below and tell me what are your theories on Bethany Young? Hopefully we find out more about her in the rest of the reason.

Stay random!

~ Jenna
